Livery

At Ayrshire Equitation we understand the importance of having your horse at livery in a place where you can be sure they will receive the best possible care in the most comfortable environment available for your budget. Thus we have a tiered livery service, where you can chose what you require that suits your routine and your horse's needs.

Stables
Boxes are in an American style barn design, with sliding doors and optional full bar close grills. We have both window boxes and inside boxes available all featuring automatic water bowls and large easy fill hay racks. Central passages make all yard work easy to manage and with an easily located muck heap, ensures that outside work is kept to a minimum. The yard is always kept neat and tidy, ensuring a clean and pleasing environment for you and your horse to enjoy.

Feeding
Horses are feed to a basic hard feed routine of 3 times a day with hay or haylage added morning and evening. Only the finest quality hay and haylage is used, all of which we make ourselves on our own land, to ensure that it is of the up most freshness. Each horse / pony is treated as an individual and dietary requirements and supplements can be discussed with our staff . DIY liveries are expected to make feeds up and these will be distributed by the staff at feeding times. This means that all horses benefit from a set routine. Hay or haylage will be given to DIY liveries in the morning only. However hay / haylage will always be left out for the DIY liveries to access themselves in the evenings.

Bedding
All horses are bedded on straw / wood fines as standard. We also have shavings available and a short organic shavings option at an additional fee of £5 per week. This provides a full starter bed and then a top up of 2 bales per week for horses and 1 for ponies.

Turnout
We can offer year round turnout (at an additional charge for fields), which is limited to grazing paddocks in winter, ground conditions dependant. All fields are within easy walking distance for the stables and are padlocked for maximum security. We aim to turnout in social groups to ensure that your horse is settled. However full liveries can request that their horses be turned out in the outdoor school for additional exercise.

Facilities Liveries can use either the indoor or outdoor ménage when it is not in use or booked. There are designated times throughout the week, where the indoor school will be made available for liveries to ride in. You are required to pay for the lights during evening sessions. We find most liveries club together and share this cost on a weekly basis. Jumps, dressage markers, poles etc are all available for use at no extra charge. However we do require that these are put away after use. Livery clients may join riding school lessons or hacks at no additional charge, numbers permitting.

Livery clients will be offered clinics, visiting instructors and competitions on a first priority basis, before any outside clients will receive a place.

Additional services

Worming
We automatically include all livery clients on our yard working program. If you do not wish your horse to participate in this we do require that you inform us of your worming program. Working costs will be added to monthly bills dependent on wormer type used at the time of year.

Shoeing
We have 2 main farriers who visit the yard on a regular basis. Full liveries will automatically be added to the shoeing list and be invoiced on your bill. DIY liveries can request to added to shoeing lists and can leave payment or be invoiced. Specialist shoeing requirements can be met and in these instances we would require you to have an initial discussion with our farrier to ensure that we can meet your needs. If you have your own farrier, they can continue to visit the yard, however you would be required to make these arrangements independently.
